Kirk, a native of North San Diego County, entered the commercial real estate business in 1990 based on his belief in the tremendous potential for growth in North San Diego County.

In January of 1991, he joined Colliers International’s Retail Division in the Carlsbad office, specializing in leasing and investment sales of project types ranging from specialty centers, grocery/drug anchored, and regional power centers. Since then, Kirk has been involved in retail commercial projects from their conception, participating in the planning, pre-leasing, and lease-up of space following construction. Recently, Kirk has spent considerable time on retail redevelopment and repositioning projects, and has extensive experience representing both retail tenants and landlords throughout San Diego County.

In 2020, Kirk and business partner Vic Gausepohl left Colliers to form Commercial Pacific Properties, a boutique commercial real estate brokerage and investment firm based in North San Diego County. The new company is slated to complete a significant volume of leases, retail sale and investment transactions in 2025 in spite of challenging economic conditions associated with the pandemic.

Business Background

Prior to entering the commercial real estate field, Kirk spent three years as a petroleum engineer in the field, working in northern Brazil, and California for internationally based Schlumberger Well Services and Technology, Ltd.

Professional Accomplishments

Since entering the commercial real estate field, Kirk has been an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He prides himself on his ability to contact and keep in touch with a large volume of tenants active in the San Diego County marketplace, as well as keeping apprised of new development and how it impacts existing product.

During his tenure at Colliers International, Kirk and business partner Vic Gausepohl were consistent recipients of numerous Top Producer, Manager’s Awards, client producer awards, CoStar Power Broker Awards and honors.
